Douglas County Residents Deer Pickup Application
A phone number is required. If you wish to use a single phone number, enter it in the Mobile Phone field even if it may be your Home Number.

By clicking "SUBMIT", I agree to the following:

  • The Deer List is a revolving list. The name at the top of the list is called and then moved to the bottom of the list, whether they agree to respond, decline responding, or can’t be reached.
  • Refusing a deer and/or not answering dispatch's call more than twice will result in being removed from the list.
  • Calls for deer pick up may come anytime day or night.
  • Once you agree to respond, you must respond within 30 minutes from the time you accepted the phone call. Deputies will not wait more than 30 minutes.
  • The deer must be removed “as is” with no field dressing at the scene.
  • A Sheriff’s Deputy will be present at the scene and will provide a deer tag authorizing possession, but you must be prepared to remove the deer without any assistance from the deputy.
  • Douglas County Emergency Communications and/or the Douglas County Sheriff's Office does not attest to the conditions of the deer carcass or the deer pick-up site.  Douglas County Emergency Communications and/or the Douglas County Sheriff's Officer are not responsible for for any injuries which may occur as a result of traffic/roadway/weather or other conditions at the pick-up site, inattention or negligence of other drivers on the roadway, lifting or moving deer carcasses, illness from consumption of deer meat, or on-scene negligent instruction or supervision.
