The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is committed to the safety, respect, and fair treatment of the LGBTQ+ community. Our LGBTQ+ Liaison Officer helps strengthen the relationship between the community and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office by conducting departmental education and ensuring fair and professional policing services. Our LGTBQ+ Liaison Officer works with all units of the Sheriff’s Office to ensure that the community is getting assistance in identifying with LGBTQ+ citizens and their concerns, and assist leadership as needed. The LGBTQ+ Liaison Officer is also responsible for providing a forum for business owners, community groups, and individuals of the LGBTQ+ community to present information on relevant law enforcement issues.
